Agen Fine Arts Museum Museum in the heart of historic Agen

Founded in 1876, the Agen Fine Arts Museum, located in the historic heart of the city, is housed in four superb private mansions built between the 15th and 18th centuries. It is one of the richest museums in the South-West and presents, in a pleasant route evoking the interior of a wealthy collector, a set of paintings and sculptures, furniture and European earthenware. The museum's collections offer a wide panorama of the history of art, from prehistory to the 21st century, which makes it a must for your visits/stays in Lot-et-Garonne!
During school holidays, the museum's public service offers a varied entertainment program for children and families. Mediation devices are also available independently, throughout the year, to allow a playful discovery of the collections.

A major architectural testimony to the town's religious and political history, the Jacobins church, the only vestige of the Dominican convent erected in 1249, has been hosting temporary exhibitions at the Museum of Fine Arts in Agen since 1990. Outside of exhibition periods, the monument can be visited on request.
