Proud sentinel dominating a narrow valley classified protected natural site. The Castle of Gavaudun crowns a rocky outcrop forty meters high. It was first a heretical point of reference before becoming one of the last French bastions during the 100 years war.
Possessed by large families of regional nobility, mainly Durfort and Lustrac, it is a beautiful example of the best architects of it's time. It belongs to the municipality since 1805.
To visit the Castle of Gavaudun means taking on the unique entrance carved into the rock to discover the amazing architecture of the fortress, enjoy the breathtaking views of the village and understand its history through various guides and recreational activities for children.

In summer, the castle offers every Wednesday and Thursday in July and August various activities, workshops, shows.
