The Château de Lauzun, a place of history, home of the first Duke of Lauzun, Antonin Nompar de Caumont (1632-1723), monument classified in 1963. The architecture of the Château de Lauzun is a testimony to the Renaissance era.
Favorites :
- The two monumental Italian Renaissance style marble fireplaces attributed to the architect Pierre Souffron (architect to Henry of Navarre, future Henry IV) , including that of the King's bedroom offered by Catherine de Medici.
- The Gallo-Roman altar of the goddess Guardianship.
As for the vast state room, it has also retained its 16th century decor, notably its floor paved with diamond-shaped terracotta tiles.
Exhibition of contemporary paintings and sculptures inside and in the park and its gardens.
As Lauzun Castle is closed this summer 2023, no visits can be provided
