DOMAINE LOU GAILLOT IN CASSENEUIL IN LOT-ET-GARONNE
A unique terroir
Domaine Lou Gaillot, located in Casseneuil in Lot-et-Garonne, extends over ancient terraces of the Lot valley. These iron-rich soils are particularly favorable for the production of fruity and complex wines. The estate's vines are cultivated in accordance with traditional methods, with particular attention paid to biodiversity and natural balance.
Grape varieties and viticulture
Domaine Lou Gaillot cultivates traditional Bordeaux and Bergeracois grape varieties, such as Merlot, Cabernets, Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon , as well as typical South-West grape varieties such as Malbec, Prunelard and Egiodola. Each grape variety is vinified separately, which makes it possible to create a wide range of wines, from the lightest to the most structured. The estate's viticultural practices favor minimal intervention, with limited use of sulphites and fermentation carried out mainly with native yeasts.
The wines of the estate
Domaine Lou Gaillot wines come in three main categories: whites , rosés and reds .
- Whites : These wines, made from a subtle blend of different grape varieties, are available in dry or slightly off-dry versions. They are distinguished by their aromatic complexity and freshness.
- Rosés : Fruity and refreshing, the estate's rosés are ideal to accompany summer dishes. They are available in dry and semi-dry versions.
- Reds : Vinified separately for each grape variety and terroir, reds offer a varied range of profiles, ranging from light and fruity wines to more structured wines suitable for aging. These wines are made to fully express the characteristics of each grape variety and the terroir.
Know-how and respect for nature
Domaine Lou Gaillot is committed to producing expressive wines while respecting nature. The organic practices adopted by the field require careful observation and great responsiveness to intervene at the appropriate time. This rigorous approach limits the use of chemicals and preserves the quality of the grapes and wine.
