Organic roots: Father and mother organic farmers, for more than 20 years

Passionate about hemp for decades, Jean-Pierre Roumat, Nicolas's father, began cultivating it in 1999, with the wish to succeed in using this plant 100% so that each part can be used and upgraded. Sown, harvested and pressed on the farm, hemp is produced in an artisanal way.

It is in Fauillet, that he sows and cultivates 8 hectares of hemp, intended for the production of hemp oil, pressed in their own oil mill. Under the name Huilerie d'Occitanie, Jean-Pierre and Martine Roumat produce and market their range of cold-pressed organic oils. Next to hemp, we also find camelina, rapeseed, sunflower which are also 100% homemade, from the field to the plate.

From organic oil to CBD

Organic edible oils are good, but Father Roumat's ambitions were much greater! For years, he has known the uses of the hemp flower and its properties related to cannabinoid molecules. But there is not enough time to make a new product, a new brand... At the same time, the professional career of Nicolas his son is evolving, they begin to discuss together on the possibility of launching a range of products based on of CBD. At the end of 2020, Nicolas left his position as logistics project manager in Bordeaux, to return to his parents' farm and launch Le Chanvre de mon Père.

As the weeks go by, the Roumat family realize that there are more and more players in the CBD market. Competition is fierce, but the quality is not always consistent. The great strength of Le Chanvre de mon Père is more than 20 years of expertise in the cultivation of hemp. Development, research of partner laboratories, creation of the logo, graphic charter, packaging, website... Nicolas surrounds himself and the company is just like the products: entirely homemade!

In August 2021, the first Le Chanvre de Mon Père product was launched, a high-quality full spectrum CBD oil, made from organic hemp from the family farm.
